ABOUT OUR CARER'S

How They Can Help You

All our carers have attended home-based care courses and have the required experience in an array of different environments, from private homes, nursing’s homes, retirement homes, step-down facilities in hospitals to disabled residences. Majority, if not all have also done volunteer work within their own communities. From Drivers to Companions to Heath Care Assistants they offer a range of services to meet your needs.

We also reference check, and criminal check, every one of our care professionals. They are appropriately placed according to their match with a client’s needs and preferences and continuously supported by our Care manager and team of medical professionals.

We do have nurses and sisters on our books as well, when the need arises for a medical professional to consult and fulfill all functions not covered by a carer.

Our carers will do light cleaning and washing for their patients / Client’s - however, they are not domestics. Please bear in mind that soiled bedding, clothing, and sundries need to be washed in a washing machine or laundromat, to ensure they and the client remain hygienic. You will still require a domestic once a week to do a thorough clean of the entire house.

F.A.Q's for Carers

Have some questions about our Silver Linings Home-Based Care? We've answered some frequently asked questions for new carers:

No, you are an independent service provider and will invoice the agency monthly for payment. You will therefore be responsible for your own UIF, SDL and PAYE.

Unfortunately, not, but we do try and keep you continuously employed.

Unfortunately, not, as you are independent Service Providers and the ‘No work, No Pay’ principle applies.

Some jobs do pay Travel / Petrol allowance but not all. Usually, carers are responsible for getting themselves to work and back, but if you do use your vehicle to do anything for the client, you claim your petrol used and that money will be paid to you month end.

We will let you know what you need to take with you to each client as the contract begins. Usually, in a live-in role carers will have their bedding, and food covered but you can always take your own especially if you have a special dietary requirement or cannot sleep without your own pillow / Duvet for example.
